WaterBugs – Swimming Course for Preschoolers

- vesikirput_200x155.png

WaterBugs is a swimming course for 5-6-year-old preschoolers. The WaterBug campaign was launched in the fall of 1999 with the endorsement of dozens of day care centers in the metropolitan area. Both children and their parents have given positive feedback on the course.

WaterBugs Swimming Course meets once a week for a total of 8 times with each lesson lasting for 30 minutes. At the end of the course the children will receive a diploma and an evaluation of their swimming skills.
Each child should be accompanied by two adults (day care personnel), who will assist in the locker rooms and possibly during the lessons. The swimming course fee is 35€/child (group of 8-10 children), which is paid by the day care teacher at the first meet. Alternatively, a parent can come to our customer service and pay for the course after the day care group has signed up for it and we have been given a list of the participants.

Objective: water acquaintance and learning basic facilities of swimming.

The course follows the progression of the Learn to Swim Program
• water acquaintance
• diving
• gliding
• floating
• kicks
• dog and elementary backstroke techniques

Swimming courses for children provide a playful and fun environment, which encourages learning on your child’s terms. At the end of the course, the children will receive a diploma and an evaluation of their swimming skills.

Class size

The swimming class size is 8-10 children (5-6-year-olds). If a child is absent due to illness, s/he cannot be replaced by another child, because that would interfere with the teaching plan. Possible absences from the lessons are not reimbursed.

Day care trip

Day care centers can bring children and their personnel to a swimming course as a class trip (for example 10 children/2 adults).
The day care personnel are responsible for the children throughout the class trip, including in the locker rooms and in the swimming pool area. The swimming instructor will chaperone the children in the water.

Welcome to learn!
