DISCOUNT GROUPS

Children

  • 7–16-year-olds are entitled to the child discount (swimming)
  • Children aged under 7 are not charged an entrance fee

Pensioners

Pensioners receive a 15 % discount from single-visit, multi-visit, monthly gym and group exercise cards, supercards, as well as from the 10-visit badminton morning card. Additionally, pensioners receive a hall specific discount from single-visit, multi-visit and monthly swimming cards. The discount is granted for regular-priced services (not from discounted services).

Pensioners can participate group exercise classes at a lower price on weekdays Mon-Fri 8.30 am - 2.30 pm

You must present one of the following to be able to get the discount:

  • Kela pensioner card or equivalent ID card showing pensioner status from a pension fund or trust.
  • Part-time pensioners are not entitled to a discount.

 

Students

Students receive a 15 % discount from single-visit, 10-visit and monthly *gym and group exercise cards, supercards, as well as from the 10-visit badminton morning card. Additionally, students receive a hall specific discount from single-visit and 10-visit swimming cards. The discount is granted for regular-priced services (not from discounted services).

  • Studies must be full-time for a period of at least 9 months and have at least 25 hours of classes weekly.
  • We accept the following student identifications: Samok, Syl, Sakki, Frank, Tuudo, The Union of Upper Secondary School Student card, VR’s student card, the Finnish Board of Education student card, FSS, International Student Card, KELA’s meal subsidy card, KELA Financial Aid for Students document. Certificate of Student Status issued by the educational institution is valid for an academic year at a time.
  • The period of validity of a student card is indicated by the term sticker attached to the card, the sticker is available to the holder of the card from their student organisation. Screenshots from the student card app are not valid. 
  • No discount is available to students in apprenticeships, secondary adult education or labour market training.

Unemployed

The unemployed receive a 15 % discount from single-visit, 10-visit and monthly *gym and group exercise cards, supercards, as well as from the 10-visit badminton morning card. Additionally, the unemployed receive a hall specific discount from single-visit and 10-visit swimming cards. The discount is granted for regular-priced services (not from discounted services)

You must present one of the following to be able to get the discount:

  • Kela or the unemployment fund payment decision of the unemployment (not older than 3 months).
  • a certificate printed out from the TE services webpage (E-services -button) .
  • an integration certificate that is given before an actual unemployment certificate.

Certificates may also be presented in electronic form.
Presenting a TE services appointment/customer card does not entitle you to a discount.

Disabled

The disabled receive a discount from single-visit swimming fees as of 17 November 2022.

  • UH (Kallio, Kontula, Malmi, Siltamäki & Töölö): 3,20 €
  • Vuosaari: 3,50 €
  • Mäkelänrinne: 3,50 €

Disabled discount eligibility:

  • a parking card for people with disabilities
  • a card for the visually disabled
  • an EU Disability Card
  • a transport card granted for a transport service as defined in the Disability Act
  • a ‘Companion Pass’ granted by HSL.

If the client is entitled to a personal assistant, the assistant can access the sports venue free of charge. The need for an assistant may be proven by presenting verification such as the EU Disability Card with an A symbol, a ‘Companion Pass’ granted by HSL or a written certificate issued by social welfare and health care services.

 

Military or Civilian Service Persons

Military and Civil Service persons are entitled to a hall specific discount from single-visit swimming fees. 

  • A valid garrison card or other proof of status granted by the Sports Department of Performing Military or Civilian Service must be presented.

 

 

Informal carer's discount (starting from 1 January 2023)

City of Helsinki Infromal carers swim free of charge. Infromal carers can also visit Urheiluhallit gyms free of charge Mon-Fri before 2 pm and Sat-Sun all day.

  • A payslip or payroll statement from the last three months on informal care allowance paid by the City of Helsinki.

 

Asylum seekers

People who have applied for or have received a decision on asylum or temporary protection receive a discount from swimming at all Urheiluhallit locations as of 19 May 2022.

  • Asylum seekers receive a discount from single-visit swimming fees.
  • The right to the reduced admission fee can be verified by a residence permit card or a certificate showing that they have applied for asylum or temporary protection.

Prices for adults and children:

  • UH (Kallio, Kontula, Malmi, Siltamäki & Töölö): 3,20 €
  • Vuosaari: 3,50 €
  • Mäkelänrinne: 3,50 €

 

War veterans

War veterans swim free of charge.

  • a front veteran and war veteran service badge (e.g. symbol R on the Kela card or front veterans’ supplement card)
  • a front veteran badge awarded to members of Lotta Svärd.

No discount is available to peacekeeper force veterans or those who have served in the military of another country.

No discount is available based on a decision for income support.

Certificates may also be presented in electronic form.

 

 

Special Swimming Card

Special swimming cards are granted for independent swimming to residents of Helsinki who have a disability or who are suffering from a long-term illness. The special swimming card is valid at all swimming halls and outdoor swimming pools in Helsinki for a year from the date of purchase. The card price is 52 € + 4 €. The special swimming card is only sold at the Sports Department’s locations. Read more.
