The unemployed receive a 15 % discount from single-visit, 10-visit and monthly gym and group exercise cards and Supercards. Additionally, the unemployed receive a hall specific discount from single-visit,10-visit and monthly swimming cards.

Proof of unemployment:
  • Kela or the unemployment fund payment decision of the unemployment (not older than 3 months).
  • Certificate printed out from the TE services webpage.
    • Codes 02, 03, 05, 06, 07 and 08 in the certificate entitle the unemployed person to a discount.
  • An integration certificate that is given before an actual unemployment certificate.

The proof of unemployment may also be presented in electronic form. The discount is not available with an appointment booking card/client card from the employment office alone, or with a social assistance decision.

If the customer is entitled to a personal assistant, the assistant can access the sports facilities free of charge. Proof of the need for an assistant can be provided, for example, with the A code of the EU Disability Card, HSL’s “Right to an escort” card or a written certificate from social and/or health services.

The discount can be obtained by presenting a valid garrison card or other certificate of completion of military and non-military service approved by the Sports Services of the City of Helsinki.

Conscripts and non-military persons can buy services at a discounted price at the hall’s customer service point, the Urheiluhallit online store, and the OnTheMove app, when the right to the discount has been proven at the hall’s customer service point and an entry about the online shopping opportunity has been added to the customer account.

Special swimming cards are granted for independent swimming to residents of Helsinki who have a disability or who are suffering from a long-term illness. The special swimming card is valid at all swimming halls and outdoor swimming pools in Helsinki for a year from the date of purchase. The special swimming card is only sold at the Sports Department’s locations.

People who have applied for or have received a decision on asylum or temporary protection receive a discount from swimming at all Urheiluhallit locations.

Asylum seekers receive a discount from single-visit swimming fees.

Prices for adults and children:

  • UH (Kallio, Kontula, Malmi, Siltamäki & Töölö): 3,20 €
  • Vuosaari: 3,50 €
  • Mäkelänrinne: 3,50 €

The right to the reduced admission fee can be verified by a residence permit card or a certificate showing that they have applied for asylum or temporary protection.

Informal caregivers have free access to swimming. In addition, caregivers have free access to the gym until 2 pm on weekdays, and all day on Saturdays and Sundays.

The discount applies to informal caregivers and foster carers who have signed a informal care agreement with the City of Helsinki and to whom the City of Helsinki pays informal care allowance or wages in accordance with this agreement.

Informal caregiver status is verified with a pay slip or pay stub that is no more than three months old, in addition to which identity must be proved upon request.

War veterans swim free of charge.

  • a front veteran and war veteran service badge (e.g. symbol R on the Kela card or front veterans’ supplement card)
  • a front veteran badge awarded to members of Lotta Svärd.

No discount is available to peacekeeper force veterans or those who have served in the military of another country.

No discount is available based on a decision for income support.

Certificates may also be presented in electronic form.
